Hillman State Park

This park is currently undeveloped and is managed for hunting by the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

Location
Hillman State Park is located in northern Washington County, 25 miles west of Pittsburgh, via U.S. Route 22.  Access to the park can be gained from State Route 18 on the west, from Clinton Frankfort Road on the north or from Old Steubenville Pike and U.S. Route 22 on the south.  See the Maps section for more detailed information.  Most roads in and around the park are marked by a concrete post with the road names stenciled on the sides (You'll have to look closely, they are very weathered).

The park contains over 3,600 acres and features a radio control model airport.

Recreational Opportunities
Called "Bavington State Game Lands" by the mountain biking community, Hillman State Park offers some of the best single track in the Pittsburgh area.  The trails and emergency roads are also great for hiking and horseback riding.  During the winter, the emergency roads can be used for cross-country skiing.

Attention: The entire park is open to hunting.  If you're visiting during the fall, early winter or spring, wear fluorescent orange.  Hunters are required to wear a minimum of 250 square inches on the head, chest and back combined, visible 360 degrees.  Or visit on Sunday, which is currently closed for hunting.

More information will be added here about the radio control model airport and its access.
